Thanks for being a part of Atlantic’s first ever virtual brass choir. We’re excited to record this super beautiful madrigal alongside all of you. We’re hoping to reveal the final recording mix on July 10th during the final session of our webinar. With this in mind, we need your recordings by July 3rd. Let’s do this!
Please follow these instructions carefully:
1) Download or stream the reference track: Atlantic’s recording of William Byrd’s Ne Irascaris Domine including Tim Albright snapping a pulse and barking measure numbers.
2) Download your part (Trumpets with last name A-K play 1st, last name L-Z play 2nd)
(tubists feel free to take some of the higher passages down an octave if that’s more comfortable)
3) Practice a little :). It will be good to get a feeling for Atlantic’s interpretation on this recording.
4) Make sure you have the click track only playing through headphones (so we don’t hear the click track in your recording).
5) Record your beautiful sound. Try to follow Atlantic’s phrasing as much as possible.
You can use whatever recording method is most comfortable for you.
Cell phone or tablet video (we’ll extract audio only so don’t worry about visual quality)
Quicktime video through your laptop (we’ll extract audio only so don’t worry about visual quality)
Fancy microphones, audio interfaces, and DAWs are of course also cool!
6) Upload your recording to the GDrive folder below. Since we’ll be dealing with hundreds of files, please use the smallest possible format (e.g. MP3 for audio files). PLEASE UPLOAD YOUR FILES BEFORE JULY 1st!
